Large stained glass window made with colored glass slabs (dalle de verre) whose luminous depth is incomparable. The thickness of each slab varies from 3/4 to 1 inch. Each one is cut with a water saw and carefully adjusted with a sandblaster, according to a pre-established template. The next step is to break the contours of each glass slab with a hammer. This process is essential to give a spectacular effect in front of the light. A cement holds everything firmly in place and gives an antique look to the whole. A sturdy stainless steel structure was made by Robert Biron using Tig (argon) welding.

The stained glass slab technique was developed by mosaic artist Jean Gaulin and glassmaker Jules Albernati in 1929 and patented in 1933. The link is almost natural between the stained glass, the mosaic and the glass slab. Several famous artists have explored this technique including Fernand Léger and Marc Chagal.

The work can be installed outside. It will resist to bad weather and frost.
